South West Bedfordshire MP, Andrew Selous, has welcomed the additional £22 million of Government funding to repair Central Bedfordshire roads between 2023-2034. This additional money comes from the reallocation of HS2 funds meaning Central Bedfordshire Council is receiving an additional £2.4 million for highway maintenance in the 2023 and 2024 financial years. The roads in South West Bedfordshire that will benefit from this funding in the 2023 and 2024 financial years are as follows.
Commenting, Andrew Selous MP said:
“I am pleased that Central Bedfordshire Council is receiving this additional funding to carry out much needed road repairs in the local area. I know just how important this issue is from talking to many local people. I will continue my role in scrutinising the work of the council’s contractor Milestone to make sure we are getting the maximum value for money from this extra Government funding.”
